To be human is to be humble. The root of work ‘human’ itself, Latin ‘humus’, means Earth or ground. To be human is to be grounded, but sometimes we get too lost in ourselves to recognize that.
For the vast majority of our short existence, we imagined ourselves as special, as if we were the center of the universe itself. When we learned the contrary, our ignorance quickly turned into apathy, and we started to destroy the world.
When we fundamentally alter nature, we destroy ourselves in return.
